Effect of nano-Zinc particles on glucose status,lipid profile,hepatic oxidative stress biomarkers in diabetic induced rats

Abstract
Diabetes refers to a group of metabolic disorders characterized by high blood glucose levels. Decreased zinc in the pancreas reduce the ability of the islet β-cells to produce insulin and exacerbate the oxidative stress-mediated complications of diabetes. Aim of work : Study the effect of ZnOPs on lipid profile and oxidative stress in induced diabetic rats. 40 male albino rats ,fresh and clean drinking water were supplied free access, housed together for 7 days for acclimatization, classified into four groups. Control: rats injected (I.P) with saline once weekly then saline orally 3 times / week . STZ: rats injected (I.P) with STZ solution at dose of 35mg/b.w. ZnONPs: rats recieved ZnoPs solution orally 3 timed / week for 8 weeks, STZ + ZnONPs: rats received a doses of ZnONPs and STZ solutions as we explained previously. Asignificant increase in FBS , HBA1C ,MDA and total cholesterol (TC) in STZ group, increased in liver GSH in ZnONPs treated group (STZ+ZnONPs) and improvement of the results above in ZnONPs group. Conclusion: The protective impact of ZnONPs might be attributed to antioxidants, this led to improvement in the various investigated parameters; and it has a greater effect on preventing DM disease.
